Art Inspo

Here are some artists whose work I have really enjoyed.

Jason Sho Green

No shade to his current work but I REALLY loved his earlier 2000s work (this was when I was in high school). I can't find too many traces of it online, but it was relatable to me as a moody indie teenager who was kind of into street art.

Side note: A delightful example of our small world is that he was my high school bff's cousin and my executive director's high school classmate. Nice guy! I interviewed him for a high school paper and he sent me the Seattle International Film Festival poster because I was a huge fan. We still have it up in our living room!

Victo Ngai

Her work is just really beautiful and incredible. She's only a year older than me!

James Jean

Same as Victo Ngai. He did the Fables comic covers. Stupid beautiful stuff.

Shaun Tan

Shaun Tan is my #1 favorite illustrator. I have several of his children's books! Would highly recommend checking out The Arrival. A story about immigration. Incredible visual storytelling, no words!
